Michael B. Jordan Shows Support for Jonathan Majors’ Next Movie After Actor’s Controversy

Michael B. Jordan is cheering on Jonathan Majors’ latest project.

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Jordan, 37, shared the trailer for Majors’ upcoming film Magazine Dreams to his Instagram Stories and left two applause emojis and three fire emojis in a comment on the post.

For Majors, whose acting career stalled amid his 2023 assault trial in New York City, which ended in a conviction, Magazine Dreams makes for his first starring role since he costarred with Jordan in 2023’s Creed III. Majors, 35, portrayed a childhood friend of Jordan’s Adonis Creed character who re-emerges after leaving prison in the third Creed film, which also functioned as Jordan’s directorial debut.

Majors started 2023 with what appeared to be star-making roles in Creed, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and Loki as well as Magazine Dreams, which initially premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Majors’ arrest in N.Y.C. in March 2025 over an alleged altercation with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari quickly put his career’s future in question.

In a split verdict, Majors was found guilty of two charges: misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury as well as harassment in the second degree, which is a violation. The actor was found not guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury and misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree.

The actor was sentenced to participate in a domestic violence treatment program in April 2024 following his December 2023 conviction. The actor was also fired from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Kang the Conqueror, who was originally intended to feature in the next two Avengers films.

In November 2024, Jabbari dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against Majors. The actor and Jabbari agreed, via their attorneys, that “all claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice.”

Jordan and Majors appeared to grow close while making Creed III, with Majors referring to Jordan as his “brother” in interviews and when he paid tribute to Jordan at Jordan’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in March 2023, weeks before Majors’ initial arrest. Jordan, in turn, suggested Majors should have been a candidate for PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive during the pair’s appearance on Sherri while promoting that movie.

In Magazine Dreams, Majors portrays an aspiring bodybuilder named Killian Maddox. “He lives a lonely, regimented life, and his relentless drive for perfection only pushes him deeper towards self-destruction,” reads an official synopsis for the movie. “But beneath his tenacious pursuit of superstardom lies a desperate, aching need for human connection.”

The movie’s March 21 release will mark Majors’ first project to release since he made his final appearances in Marvel’s Disney+ series Loki in 2023. Next, he will reportedly star in a revenge thriller titled Merciless, directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s brother Martin Villeneuve, which will make for Majors’ first project to film after his conviction.
